- BEFORE: The original hallway ceiling, looking towards the front door.
- DURING: Old ceiling removed, new joists in place.
- BEFORE: The original kitchen ceiling, looking towards the back. Note the old lintel half-way down, which is the old outside back wall before an earlier extension.
- DURING: Old ceiling removed, new joists in place. Old lintel has been removed, so new ceiling will be the same height from front to back.
- BEFORE: Looking around the corner at the back of the kitchen. The pillar between the patio door and the window will be supporting the new corner of the upstairs extension, so needs to be strengthened.
- DURING: Old ceiling removed, new joists in place.
- The pillar has been rebuilt using non-compressable bricks, and the new supporting RSJ's are in place.
- Plasterboard goes up on the main part of the ceiling...
- ...and is then plastered.
- The old ceiling in the lower section is removed...
- ...and then plasterboarded. Note that the wall has also been plastered.
- The ceiling has now been decorated, coving has been put up, and the downlighters are in (although not fully seated yet for decorating purposes).
