- BEFORE: The original downstairs hallway. Looking from the bottom of the stairs, the wooden door on the left is the kitchen door (open), the white door in the middle is the WC, the wooden door on the right is the old front door (open).
- All doors closed. Note that since the ceiling was removed, the WC wall does not touch the ceiling!
- DURING: The old hallway has been gutted, and the WC removed. The pink wall in the middle is from the WC. The old wooden cladding front wall has also been removed, revealing the porch extension which was not previously visible.
- View from the kitchen doorway towards the front of the house and the new front door.
- View from the front door towards the kitchen at the back (door is closed). The wall tiles are where the old WC washbasin has been removed.
- The studwork is started for the new walls. Looking from the bottom of the stairs again, the new doorway on the left will be the boot-room, the new doorway on the right will be the new WC. This sticks out a bit further than the boot-room.
- View from the kitchen doorway towards the front.
- View from the front door towards the kitchen.

- New WC floor. Note the right-hand side has a new suspended floor in the area covered by the porch extension.
- All the plumbing for the new bathroom up above this area. The copper pipe is the gas supply to the new boiler, which will be in the new bathroom. There is also plenty of electric cables, as the fusebox and meter are on the other side of that wall, in the garage.
- The WC floor has been tiled, and the units installed.
- The WC now has a door! Lights have also been installed.
- The sink and loo have been installed, so the WC is now fully functional. This means work can begin on demolishing the old bathroom upstairs.
- The rest of the hallway walls and ceiling are plasterboarded. The old outside render near the front door will shortly be removed.
- The hallway is fully replastered, and coving is put up.
- The new doors for the boot room and WC.
